Hi, my name is Nancy Byerly and I am the creator, and owner of Byerly Enterprises.  So what makes me different from every other business on the Internet?  I love helping small business owners solve problems and see beyond themselves. I cannot tell you the joy it brings to me to see small business owners grow their businesses.  I have years of experience in working with small business owners.

I have a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Ottawa University and my undergrad degree is in Computer Information Systems Management (CISM).  I served in the Military for twenty-two years (22) and had the privilege to serve in every contingency from 1980 to 2002. (Bosnia, Kuwait, Afghanistan and many others.)  I believe this experience helped shaped the way I see things in a different perspective than other small business owners.  I also had a small IT firm from 2000 til 2008.

Biggest Problem Small Business Owners Face!

The biggest problem that I see when working with businesses is that they spend so much time working in their business that they don’t have the time to work on their business.  So what is the difference to working on your business versus working in your business? That is a great question, thanks for asking.  Let me answer it with real world examples.  I have client(s) that believes that they have to respond to their best customers and provide the service themselves.  They have employees but feel that they need to do the work themselves.  This is working in the business.  You have employees right? Have you trained them on the proper way to interact with your customers? They know the technical side of the business, right?  So why do you need to go and perform the work? Do these best customers call you after hours?  Do you provide after hour support to all customers?  No, then why the special treatment.  Also why do you wear the same uniforms that your technicians do?  You are the small business owner and as such you need to dress differently than your employees.

I will be writing posts on problems that I have helped small business owners solve.  Here are some examples of problems that will be discussed in upcoming articles:
